Hire Guidelines Summary

 

Availability of Equipment

The Equipment is offered subject to its being available to the Owner (when the Hirer’s acceptance of the contract is received by the Owner). Delay in delivery of the Equipment shall not render the contract subject to cancellation by the Hirer, time of delivery not being the essence of the contract.

Minimum hire period

Minimum hire period is 2 weeks, unless otherwise agreed.

Delivery of Equipment

Unless the Owner receives notification to the contrary within 48 hours all plant will be deemed to be have been delivered in good working condition and to the Hirer’s satisfaction.

Timed delivery & collections

We cannot guarantee a timed delivery slot due to issues out with our control, however, we aim to meet hirers need.  Deliveries & collections out with normal working hours will be charged at an enhanced rate.

Aborted delivery & collections

If delivery / collection of Equipment is aborted whilst on way or on arrival to site, the Hirer will be charged accordingly.

Waiting charges 

Waiting charges are applicable after 20 minutes on site, this will be charged at £40 plus vat per hour.

Siting

The Hirer shall be responsible for ensuring the allocation of a suitable site to facilitate the loading, unloading and, where applicable, servicing of the Equipment. Where the ground is soft or otherwise unsuitable the Hirer shall supply and lay appropriate temporary foundations in a suitable position for loading and unloading, and for the Equipment to rest on.

Notice of Termination

When the minimum contract period has expired the contract becomes indeterminate and 7 days’ notice of termination is required by the Owner from the Hirer. When the current notice of termination has been given but the equipment is not made available for collection due to no fault on the part of the Owner, then the latter is entitled to charge the hirer for any waiting time, wasted journeys, or expenses incurred.

The Owner may terminate the contract after the minimum contract period has expired by giving, at any time, 7 days’ notice.

Please ensure that all personal items are removed from equipment prior to collection and arrangement is made with Scotloo / Scotbox to obtain keys for equipment, in the event of no-one being on site.  If equipment is found to be excessively dirty, a cleaning charge will be applied.

Damage Charges

On uplift of equipment this will be checked in and the Hirer will be notified of any damages and repair costs unless opted for the Damage Waiver Plan.
